Balanced Diet Secrets?

We’ve come across an exciting new solution for people looking to maintain a balanced diet.

A nutrition and fitness expert named Joel Marion who was recognised by Men’s Fitness Magazine as one of America’s Top 50 Personal Trainers has recently completed his tell-all balanced diet solution, called “Xtreme Fat Loss Diet”.

The Xtreme Fatloss plan revolves around a 5 day food cycle which is repeated 5 times to make up the complete 25 day diet.

Here are a few sneak peeks of what’s inside Joel’s controversial Xtreme Fatloss Diet:

1. Cheat Day (aka Density Training Day)
The Cheat Day is controversial because it is a day in which you can eat your favourite foods like pizza, ice cream and burgers, however it allows you to boosts your leptin (which is a hormone responsible for your metabolism) and this in turn encourage faster fat burning, Without the Cheat Day the cut in calories from eating healthily actually makes it harder for you to burn fat.

2. Shake Day: Strength Training Day
On the Shake Day Joel Marion advocates obtaining all calories from special nutritional shakes, You also do strength training to help maintain lean muscle mass.

3. Fast Day: Lactic Acid Training Day
On the fast day, your leptin levels are soaring which creates a massive calorie deficit which in turn means you lose a lot of fat. However as your leptin levels are already raised from your cheat day, your metabolism doesn’t slow down.

4. Moderate Carb : Dynamic Training Day
The Moderate Carb day is where you eat a diet in which 40% of your calories come from carbs, 30% from fats, and 30% from protein.

This eating pattern helps you to enjoy more food after the previous two days of low calorie intake and provides the energy to perform Dynamic Training which accelerates fat loss.

5. Protein-Only Depletion : Lactic Acid Training Day
This day depletes the body of energy ready for the Cheat Day.

If you’re prepared to put the effort in for the next 25 days, then Be sure to check out Joel’s Xtreme Fat Loss Diet, then come back here to post your comments about it. I’d love to hear your own personal feedback on his solution.

Best of Luck,
James

What is a Balanced Diet?

A balanced diet is where you combine a wide variety of food and drink while at the same time moderating the consumption of refined sugar, saturated fat, cholesterol, trans fat, salt and alcohol to moderation.

What about Calories?
The ideal balanced diet for you is one that is designed for your calorie level, for instance portion size is an important aspect.

Another thing which is important is to choose food with a high-nutrient density as nutrient-dense foods provide vitamins and minerals and relatively few calories e.g. fresh fruit and vegetables, lean meat and fish, and whole grains and beans.

The problem with low-nutrient dense foods is they have very few vitamins but lots of calories, for example chocolate bars, fizzy drinks and donuts.

Examples of a Low and High nutrient-dense Lunch:

High nutrient-dense Lunch:

Sandwich:
Bread: Whole wheat
Filling: Deli turkey
Roasted Red Pepper
Romaine lettuce
Carrots
1 teaspoon of mayonnaise

Drink: 8 oz non-fat milk

Whereas a Low nutrient-dense lunch would look like:

Burger
Filling: Ground beef hamburger
Hamburger buns
Iceberg lettuce
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1 slice of American cheese
Side
Chips/French fries

Drink: Large regular soda

A Healthy and balanced diet should combine both groups of nutrient density correctly, which is possible when following a healthy and balanced eating plan.
